On the wireless guitar controller, there is a small round switch on the simulated bridge (shown below). This switch is the spring selector switch.
If you press the switch away from the rest of the bridge, it selects the light spring assembly. This allows for a faster whammy bar movement, more like what you would find on a typical Guitar Hero guitar.
If you move the switch towords the bridge, then it selects the heavy spring, allowing for a better simulated "real guitar" feel.
