If your Sony Playstation 2 (PS2) has a model number greater than SCPH-5x00y, it has a built-in IR sensor that allows your Harmony remote to control it. If you have an earlier version of the PS2 then your Harmony remote will not be able to control it unless you purchased an accessory DVD remote and IR adapter kit (the IR adapter plugs into a controller port on the front of the game console). In either case, you cannot power on/off the PS2 using the remote.
