To control your TiVo digital video recorder with your Harmony remote, ensure that you are on the correct remote address. To change the remote address on your TiVo so that your Harmony remote can control it:
- On your Harmony remote, press the Device button that you have mapped to your TiVo (probably the Cable/Sat or VCR/Aux button). Now, press Channel Up on your Harmony remote. If that works, then you are finished this procedure. If not, go to the next step.
- On the TiVo remote, press the TiVo button to reach the System Information screen. Highlight TiVo Messages & Setup and press Select. Then, highlight System Information and press Select. On the System Information screen, scroll down until you see Remote Address.
- Hold down the Pause and TiVo buttons for 5 seconds, until the red LED on the TiVo remote lights up.
- Use the number keys to enter any digit from 1 to 9 (1 to 3 on a Sony). You should enter 1 first. The remote LED will flash, but the screen will not be refreshed.
- Press the right arrow to send the code to the TiVo device. You should see the digit you entered on the screen. You have now programmed this remote control and this DVR to operate on channel 1.
- Press the TiVo button to return to TiVo Central.
- Go back to Step 1 to test if you have the correct remote address. If not, repeat these steps using the next remote address.You should see the digit you entered on the screen. You have now programmed this remote control and this DVR to operate on channel 1.
