Most home theater devices in the market today use IR remotes to control them. However, some home theater devices use an RF remote for control.
Infrared remotes use light and require line of sight to operate the device. Radio Frequency remotes uses radio waves and does not require line of sight to operate the device.
The Harmony remote can only control IR devices. It cannot control RF devices.
