For remote viewing, you need an always-on broadband Internet connection like DSL, Cable Modem, or T1. Specifically, you need to have a broadband connection to each Werks Software host installation.
For each Remote viewing place and mobile device, you now have the option to select your preferences.
Remote viewing at computers is supported between download speed of Dial-up (56Kbps) to DSL/LAN (256Kbps or greater).
Remote viewing from mobile devices is supported between download speeds of 14.4Kbps up to 256Kbps or greater
For each site you connect for remote viewing, you may log in and set up your online preferences.
For your preference please choose the lower connection speed value of :
- The receiving site or mobile device download speed or
- Your WiLife host PC site upload speed.
For example considering your PC host at home is connected to Internet on IDSL at 144Kbps follow these suggestions for the site you are viewing from:
- Choose 144 Kbps if your location is on a T1 (at greater than 256Kbps).
- Choose 56 Kbps If your location has a dial up with speed of 56Kbps.
- Choose 28.8 Kbps if your device only supports 28.8Kbps connection speed.
Please use one of the links below to test the upload and download speed metrics of your connection or contact your Internet carrier (i.e. AT&T, QWEST, Comcast, etc.).
Remember you can use the WiLife application email alert feature and send video clips or video frames by email even if you do not have connection speed needed for remote viewing.
