Harmony Remote Software lets you add, remove, or change the function of LCD buttons on your Harmony One remote.
-
All model numbers are correct
-
Devices needed are included in the activity
-
Input settings of devices in activity are accurate
-
Correct device is selected for channel and volume control
Here are some typical scenarios and solutions for activity troubleshooting:
-
Activity never works correctly when first powering on my devices, but the Help button fixes the issue.
Solution: Your Harmony remote sends multiple commands when starting an activity:
-
Keep the remote pointed at your devices until it stops transmitting signals.
-
Remove any objects that could interfere with the infrared (IR) signal path between your remote and home entertainment devices.
-
Adjust the Power On Delay because some devices need a warm-up time before a signal can be accepted (see answer 360023250734). For example, to allow for a change to the input for a device when starting from an off state.
NOTE: If the Help button doesn't fix the issue, you should review your activity settings and verify the correct inputs are selected for the activity.

My Harmony remote doesn't switch between activities correctly, but the Help button fixes the issue.
Solution: The Harmony remote sends out multiple commands with delays between them. Without those delays, some commands may lock up or not work properly. If the delays aren't working correctly, you can adjust the Inter-Device Delay (see answer 360023250734).
NOTE: If the Help button doesn't fix the issue, you should review your activity settings and verify the correct inputs and devices are selected in the activity.
-
My TV/AVR isn't set to the correct input when switching activities.
Solution: This can be fixed by adjusting the Input Delay (see answer 360023250734).
NOTE: If the Help button doesn't fix the issue, verify that your inputs for the devices match what is shown in the Harmony software. Also, check that the input commands are correct by reviewing the input settings (select "Adjust Inputs" from the Settings screen).
-
My Harmony remote sends commands too slowly when I press a button while in an activity.
Solution: Having some delay when you press buttons (ex. channels, volume, numbers) is necessary so your devices will respond correctly. To adjust the Inter-Key Delay, see answer 360023250734).
-
My activity is missing commands
Solution: When a command is missing from an activity:
-
It might be named differently from what's on your original remote.
-
The command might not have been added to the activity. To add it, see answer 360023250734.
-
-
My Harmony remote sends a command multiple times with a single button press.
Solution: Some remotes send repetitive commands or don't send enough commands. You can fix this by adjusting the repetitive value in the software (see answer 360023250734).
-
My device doesn't turn on with the Harmony remote.
Solution: Some devices use radio frequency (RF) technology and don't work with the infrared (IR) technology used by the Harmony One. Others work with both. To determine if your device is RF or IR, see answer 360023250734. Then, check the device manual to see if it can be switched from RF to IR.
NOTE: If your device uses IR technology and your remote can't control it, make sure nothing is blocking the signal between the remote and the device.
Sometimes, a device won't power on because it's using a different set of commands from the defaults in the Harmony database. This is considered a "multi-code" device, and you'll need to use your original remote to confirm the commands (see answer 360023250734).
-
My devices aren't in sync after updating my remote.
Solution: It's important to make sure all your devices are off before testing the remote after an update. If one of your devices doesn't turn on or off, or if your device doesn't switch source inputs correctly, press the Help button on your remote.
